Minutes Westport Village Commission
Call to order: 6:37 p.m. by Gordie O’Neill
Attendees: Gordon O’Neill (Chair); Shelley Lonergan (Commissioner); Edna O’Neill

Additions to the Agenda:
Adoption of Agenda: Gordie motioned to adopt. Shelley seconded. Motion carried.
Previous minutes review: To be reviewed at the next meeting as Trevor Moore quit
his position prior to the start of this evening’s meeting.
1. Monthly Financial Statements:
a. June 2024 financials: To be reviewed next meeting due to Trevor’s departure.
b. July 2024 financials: To be reviewed next meeting due to Trevor’s departure.
2. Old Business:
a. Community Hall doors and locks/repairs/replacement: Gordie has spoken to South West Glass and they have still not arrived. Edna to call Pecks Auto Glass.The building inspector said keypad locks are acceptable to use on all Village Doors
b. Electrical work Rec Hall & Community Hall (including ceiling fans in rec hall): New electrical work has been started at the fire hall and it is hoped to be completed in four days including the installation of new fans.
c. Life Rings on Wharves: Life rings are to be installed at the wharf. Jeff Thompson will be asked to do this.
d. Job opportunities: First item on the next agenda will be to vote in a new commissioner.
e. Road Repairs: Todd Amero advised we are now six weeks behind due to the floods.
f. AGM: Meeting will be held as soon as possible after Grant Thornton vacations are over.
3. New Business:
a. Hall Water: The water at the hall is brown. Filter needs to be changed. Crystal clear needs to come for maintenance.
b. Little Library/Book Box: It has been requested that a book box be constructed and placed in the community.
