Minutes Village of Westport Commission AGM
1. Call to Order: 6:34pm
2. Attendees: Gordon O’Neill (Chair); Shelley Lonergan (Commissioner); Edna O’Neill (Clerk-Sub)
3. Additions to the Agenda: None
4. Adoption of Agenda: Gordie motioned to adopt; Shelley seconded. Motion carried.
5. Minutes:
a. July and August: Tabled until Nov 12th
6. Monthly Financial Statement
a. June, July, August, September, and October: Tabled until Nov 12th
b. Grant Thornton 2022-23 Audit Review: Gordie motioned to adopt; Shelley seconded. Motion carried.
7. Old Business:
a. Community Hall doors and locks/repairs/ replacement: Tabled until Nov 12th
b. Electrical Work Rec Hall & Community Hall (Include Ceiling Fans in Rec Hall)Tabled until Nov 12th
c. Life Rings on Wharves: Tabled until Nov 12th

f. New Commissioner to replace Trevor Moore election and vote:Voting of a commissioner was put to the floor and Mike McKinnell was nominated by Lauren McCarron and Pat Moore. Gordie motioned to adopt; Shelley seconded. Motion carried.
8. New Business:
a. Clerk replacement wages and banking access for clerk and new commissioner: The returning clerk, Angela Lonergan, will be paid $600/month. She will make an appointment with Scotiabank to get a bank card so she can make deposits and access the monthly statements online for monthly balancing. At this appointment Mike McKinnell is to be added to the Village account so he can have signing authority on the Village checks. Gordie motioned to adopt; Shelley seconded. Motion carried.
9. From the floor: There were two concerns that came from the floor regarding the audit. First was on page 5 of the audit there was a request to explain what the Payables & Accruals listed under Liabilities were for. Second was a request for the budget to be explained in plain terms.
