Minutes Westport Village Commission
Call to Order: 6:34 p.m.
Attendees: Gordon O’Neill (Commissioner); Trevor Moore (Commissioner); Shelley Lonergan (Commissioner); Cheyenne Peterson (Clerk/Treasurer)
Additions to Agenda: N/A
Adoption of Agenda: Motion to adopt from Shelley, Trevor seconded the motion.
Previous minutes review: Minutes from May 21st, 2024 village meeting were reviewed and adopted. Motion to adopt from Trevor, second motion from Shelley.
- Monthly Financial Statements:
a. May financials 2024: Motion to adopt from Shelley, seconded by Trevor. - Old Business:
a. Community Hall doors and locks/repairs/replacement: Gordie has called and left messages with South West Glass and has had no response. Will be asking Jeff Thompson to change the tumblers.
b. Electrical work Rec Hall & Community Hall (Including ceiling fans in rec hall): Gordie has been in touch with Shawn Hudson today. Shawn said he would be down tomorrow to check the jobs, work should be done in about two weeks.
c. Rec Hall Dehumidifier: Still on order from Home Hardware.
d. Ambulance purchase: To be removed from Agenda
e. Life rings on Wharves: Two life rings still waiting to be installed.
f. Banking access for new clerk: On standby for new Commissioner to join and have Brian join on behalf of the fire department.
g. Job Opportunities: Three new jobs posted i.e. Snow Removal; Lawn Care; Garbage Collection. - New Business:
a. Road Repairs – Community Reach: Gordie has tried to contact Todd. He has made multiple attempts to contact Todd but has had no response. Commissioners have asked community members to contact the Municipality and Department of Highways to protest them not fixing our roads
